Christian education

Through the ministries at Grace Lutheran, we strive to educate, nurture, and enhance your ability to worship God and accept God’s grace and love in your life. All church members are encouraged to use their talents to minister to others, whether by serving as a Sunday Church school teacher, leading a Bible study, sharing your musical talents, or volunteering to help in our community.

It is through these actions that we share God’s love with others and allow them to know Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Youth News

Houston we have a gathering!  If your youth (coming out of 8th grade through graduating Seniors) would like to join us in this once in a lifetime experience we are asking that families commit by October 15. Please see Kim Gietl or Jessica Thannen for more details.  You can also get a lot of information on the ELCA website under gathering.  It’s going to be amazing!

WE CAN GET TO HOUSTON!

Bring your cans to church the first Saturday or Sunday of the month.  We will have a box to collect those in the Fellowship Hall!!

THE PUMPKIN PRAYER

Dear God,
As I carve my pumpkin help me say this prayer:

Open my mind so I can learn about You;
(Cut the top of the pumpkin)

Take away all my sin and forgive me for the wrong things I do.
(Clean out the inside)

Open my eyes so Your love I will see;
(Cut the eyes out in heart shapes)

I'm so sorry for turning up my nose to all you've given me.
(Cut a nose in the shape of a cross)

Open my ears so your word I will hear.
(Cut the ears shaped like the Bible)-we did rectangles

Open my mouth so I can tell others You're near
(cut the mouth in the shape of a fish)

Let Your light shine in all I say and do! Amen.
(Place a candle inside and light it)
